Email ID is your identity in the virtual world of web. Many services/websites on the web require you to go through sign up process.
You need to sign up using your Email ID so as to gain access to any particular service/website.
But sometimes, you may need to sign up on a service that you want to access for one time only. or not tell your personal iD any other Person .
For example, to download the software from any website by providing your email address. In such cases, providing your permanent email ID is not a wise deal at all. Better go with temporary email accounts in such cases.
Mailinator lets you use any email address @mailinator.com and pick up the mail at their site. Since there's no connection to your real address, you sure won't get spam from using Mailinator addresses. Keep in mind that all mail sent to Mailinator is made public.
