The literal meaning of Kovalam is a groove of coconut trees as the place gives you a sight of splendid coconut trees all around. This monsoon destination which is located at the Arabian Sea has three beaches separated by rocks to form a crescent; these beaches are Lighthouse beach, Hawah beach and Samundra beach.
The lighthouse beach is named after its 30 meter lighthouse and holds the glorious Vizhinjam mosque. It will be a splendiferous experience to walk at the beach feeling the waves touching your feet.
Mahabaleshwar, Maharastha
This hill station is surrounded by valleys on all sides; the peaks of the hills will take your breath away with its pleasant flora. Mahabaleshwar is known for its more than 14 famous points where one can enjoy scenic beauty; some of these points are Arthur's Seat, Kate's Point, Needle Hole Point. Once you are here you will love the boat rides at the Venna Lake as they are truly romantic. Do visit the sunrise point/ Wilson point which is Mahabaleshwar’s highest peak above the sea level.

Munnar, Kerala
This hill station is located in Kerala, in the midst of mountains and evergreen forests, located at the merging of three mountain streams Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala; it’s an ideal monsoon escapade. The place is full of tea plantations owned by the TATA Tea Company.
Once you are here do visit Anamudi, the highest peak in south India. Another distinctive feature of Munnar is the Neelakurinji flower which makes the complete hills blue once in twelve years, the last time this happened was in 2006. Udaipur, Rajasthan
This is a good place to relax by the lake as it is also known as the lake city of India. The lakes here include Pichola Lake and Fateh Sagar Lake which will fascinate you even more in monsoon. Udaipur also has a rich heritage with the presence of Forts and Palaces among which City Palace is the most renowned.
The prominent sightseeing places around Udaipur are Nathdwar (48 km), Haldighati (40 km), Eklingji (22 km), Kumbhalgarh, Nagda (23 km), Jaisamand Lake (50 km), Ranakpur to name a few.
Coorg, Karnataka
The best hill station at Coorg is Madikeri which is situated 252 Km from Bangalore, it is an enchanted hill station in Karnataka which is said to be the Scotland of India and the Kashmir of South India.
Coorg is full of dense teak wooded forests, green valleys, coffee, tea and cardamom plantations and mountain ranges. In rainy season, the spectacular greenery of Coorg will be at its best. The eminent peaks here are Tadiandamol, Brahmagiri and Pushpagiri. Leh is the second largest district in the country (after Kutch, Gujarat) in terms of its area. The primary attraction of this place is the presence of mountains which makes it a good place for a jeep safari and trekking. The main mountain ranges here are Ladakh Range and Zanskar Range.
With the influence of Aryan and Tibetan culture it also enjoys the presence of monasteries which attracts tourists during the monastery festivals. Konkan, Maharashtra
Consisting of Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg,the entire Konkan stretch undergoes transformation with the first rains. Carpeted in a thick blanket of green, Konkan is a sight to behold during monsoon. Besides natural beauty, Konkan is rich in history. Of strategic importance, Konkan is closely associated with King Shivaji and the Marathas.
